When my sons were very young, I nearly lost one of them to severe asthma and subsequent pneumonia. He is much better these days, but as long as I live, I will never forget those days.
I hope you recover fully and soon. Until then, pace yourself, conserve your energy and be kind to yourself.
I got Covid three times. The first was in late November of 2019 before we knew about Covid. I was treated for Bronchitis, then it went into Walkin Pneumonia. I was so sick. Other staff at school were as well. Then I got it in 2021 and 2023 also in late November/Early December. I was vaccinated, and grateful for that knowing my symptoms could be much worse. In 2024 I continued to have issues after and ended up with Covid induced asthma. Thankful, it is not like yours where it hampers me daily. Exhertion brings it on, and I don't use an inhaler as I can just stop and catch my breath. My fear is if I catch it again, will I be dealing with full blown asthma. Anyway, I get it. I have heard it is awful this time around. Sending healing vibes your way.
Fellow asthmatic here, COVID changed my asthma as well, atleast that is how it feels. Got the flu twice last year and it was rough. Got my booster for COVID and the flu shot in November. I will never miss one again. Get well soon, you are needed.
When I was young, seasonal asthma was a given. I did years of visits to the doctor to receive my shots to help my body be ready. I eventually outgrew the bad attacks. Stress and the right atmospheric conditions still sometimes take me to the brink. To this day, I have to avoid music that has a similar repetitive rhythm that is similar to my labored breathing back then. I hope you outgrow the affliction. The fear of it did drive me to make my own mask when there was the mask shortage in 2020.
Please take good care of yourself, dear Olivia. When I get the flu, I drink alot of bone broth. It seems to help me. I’m very much enjoying reading your articles in the mail. I want very much to get a yearly sub subscription, but since F Elon is privy to so much of my financial information now, I’m very hesitant to use any of my cards online. If you would like to send me a P.O. Box via email, I would be happy to send you a personal check. I’ve followed you as well as the FabFour and other GenZ, for some years now and very much agree with your perspective
Take care of yourself! You’re doing a fantastic job and you deserve to rest and heal. 🙏🏻
